Warmth is exactly what you will be met with at the Davvi Arctic Lodge, a simple hotel steeped in local charm and character. An open fire blazes in the hotel's cosy lounge, while the warmth of the welcome provided by the staff will soon have your cheeks glowing with pleasure.
The Davvi Arctic Lodge is a fantastic, family-friendly hotel which has been traditionally built in keeping with the naturally wooded area that it sits within.
On arrival the first thing that you will notice is the quietness of the location, this is due to the setting - it is set well back from the main road, upon a slight hillside. The main building is constructed from round logwood, the Cabins, Aurora house and Fell Houses are built from flat wood timber.
On entering the hotel you are welcomed in a nice bright space with a small reception desk, spiral staircase to the lower level, door to the left which is the entrance to the round lounge and the doorway to the right which takes you into the bar, sitting area and restaurant.
The round sitting room has comfy sofas, log fire and a large flat-screen tv.
In the lounge, bar and restaurant area there are huge panoramic windows which look out, beyond the trees, to Sweden. It is warm, comfortable and homely.
Within the immediate grounds on a slight hill, are the log cabins, Aurora Suites and plenty of little toboggan areas. The Fell Houses are located a good 5-8 mins down a lit, snowy path and stairway.
The hotel is known for its immediate access to a dark sky area which is perfect for Northern Lights Viewing. This is located at the top of the main, fast, toboggan run – near to the communications tower about 15 mins walk away.
At the bottom of the driveway to the hotel is a garage with large shop and gift shop. The garage sells snacks, soft drinks, beer, hot drinks and a small selection of souvenirs. The gift shop also sells thermal base layers, socks and ski gloves if you have forgotten anything.

Aurora House Deluxe (Sleeps 2)

The deluxe room is perfect for two. This cosy, double room comes complete with modern features such as underfloor heating, a free standing bath, double sinks, a traditional Finnish sauna and a wood burning stove. The room is located in the grounds of the hotel and accessed via a lobby shared with just one other room.
Aurora House Suite (Sleeps 2-7)

For the ultimate in comfort, we would highly recommend the Aurora House suite. With the deluxe room as the master bedroom, the superior room adapts into a chic living room, which also provides a second bathroom. In addition to each of the individual room amenities, with the full suite taken, you will also benefit from a private entrance and cloakroom to store your thermal outwear.
Aurora House Superior (Sleeps 2-5)

The superior room offers spacious, contemporary design and is the largest room type available. Our favourite feature within this designer room is certainly the comfortable seating area that surrounds your own wood burning stove. Whilst the room is designed for two, additional beds can be added if required. Located in the grounds of the hotel, access is via a lobby shared with the deluxe room.
Cabin (Sleeps 2-4)
Sauna - Semi detached - Timber built
The semi-detached cabins are simple and cosy and all offer a porch area for storage and a private sauna. The cabin has an open-plan layout with either double or twin beds and a sofa bed. All cabins are located in the grounds of the hotel and are just a short walk from the main hotel building. Please note that if the cabins are filled to maximum occupancy levels, space will be limited.
Double/Twin Room (sleeps 2-5)
The hotel rooms are set on two floors in a wing that extends from the main building, rooms are simply furnished and comfortable. All can accommodate an extra bed, usually a convertible chair and, depending on your party size, larger double rooms featuring a sofa bed with space for an extra chair bed are available in the downstairs of the hotel. Please note that if these larger double rooms are utitlised to their maximum occupancy, space and storage will be minimal.
Fell House (Sleeps 4-9)
Monitor and DVD player - Separate lounge area
The Fell House offers both 2 and 3 bedroom units, with a separate lounge area, making it ideal for families or groups. Located approximately 150m from the main Davvi Arctic Lodge hotel building, it is connected by a purpose built footpath through the forest. Whilst a short walk this path is on an incline with steps and may not be suitable for people with walking difficulties.
Two-bedroom cabin (Sleeps 5-6)
Sauna - Detached - Timber built
There are two large, detached cabins at the Davvi Arctic Lodge. These two-bedroom cabins can sleep up to 6, with one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, as well as a sofa bed in the separate lounge area that can sleep two children (or one adult). All cabins have their own private sauna and are located just a short walk from the main hotel.
