Day 1
Upon landing at Enontekio Airport in the far north of Finnish Lapland you will be directed to your coach for the approximately 55 minute transfer to Karesuando, your base for the duration of your trip. The scenic route takes you through ancient Sami lands of forests and frozen lakes, a picture-perfect journey with the chance of seeing herds of reindeer gathered by the trees.
You will collect your thermal suits and boots that will be your protection against the Arctic climate along the way before continuing to your accommodation. Once you have checked into your hotel and settled into your room, there will be a short welcome meeting hosted by your holiday representative who will give you all the information you need for your Lapland break.
Day 2
After a hearty breakfast you will start the day with your first activity – your snowmobile safari. This is an adventure loved by adults and children alike and you will be transported to the activity area by minibus to start your adventure. Your thrilling snowmobile expedition will take you along a predetermined route through the forest and snowy countryside driving at a speed that is comfortable for you. Children are pulled in a sleigh behind the guide’s snowmobile.
A tasty hot lunch will warm you up before you take to the snow again for the real reason behind your journey to Lapland – it’s time to search for Santa. Cosily tucked into your reindeer sleigh you will meander across the frozen land and through the towering pine trees to Santa’s top secret location – perhaps only special reindeer know the way to his cabin?
Your private meeting will see each child getting a chance to talk to Santa and he will have a small gift for every child.
Day 3
After a hearty breakfast, it will be time to check out of your room before heading into the snow for your Husky Experience. There will also be time to add in an optional excursion if you wish, or just to spend time enjoying some tobogganing, building a snowman and throwing some snowballs. Following lunch at the hotel it will be time to board the coach for your transfer to the airport and wave goodbye to this beautiful place.
The 3- and 4-night options of this break contain identical activities but allow more free time. The length of the trip is dependent on the date/departure.
Please note: For operational reasons itineraries may vary.

Further Information
All excursions include expert guides, equipment and all necessary instruction. On our Northern Lights night safaris, we search for the best viewpoints rather than aim to cover a specific distance.
On all safaris, unless a supplement is paid to secure a single rider, you will be required to share with another person from the group. All prices are per person. All distances and durations are approximate and subject to weather conditions and route on the day.
All excursions are subject of minimum numbers and local conditions and are non-refundable. However, you will be automatically refunded the full price paid for your excursion if it doesn’t go ahead due to operational reasons.
*All Snowmobile activities carry a €980 damage deposit which is payable locally. A valid driving license must be shown upon arrival.** The ability to drive and control a husky team on longer safaris is determined by physical attributes. Normally, anybody over the age of 18 should be able to handle a dog team comfortably.
Warmth is exactly what you will be met with at the Davvi Arctic Lodge, a simple hotel steeped in local charm and character. An open fire blazes in the hotel's cosy lounge, while the warmth of the welcome provided by the staff will soon have your cheeks glowing with pleasure.
